A young woman returns to her small town home to make peace with her estranged father, but dad is not interested. As they silently clean out the basement, they stumble upon crates of old vinyl records. As they dig through Mama’s old record collection, they realize that they are more alike than they thought. This heartwarming show will have the audience singing and stomping along to country and western hits from the late 60s and early 70s. Soon, their dance moves melt the ice and an unlikely friendship develops. Lily drops her guard. Michael grows up. Together they lose themselves in the dance of love, laughter and life.

He complains to the landlord, has her evicted and finds he has trouble pounding on his door in the form of Doris, not a prostitute but an aspiring “model and actress”, thank you very much. She figures he owes her a bed for the night, an arrangement that leads to hilarity. Alan Alda and Diana Sands took the roles on Broadway, George Segal and Barbra Streisand on film.
